May 2008
It’s 92 outside and only mid-April. I assure you I’m not bragging. Even without humidity, low 90s are a bit
much. I’m told I have a balmy 120 degrees right around the corner to look
forward to but I did knowingly elect to move to the desert. I should have
expected this.
The past month has been yet another blur of activity but,
unfortunately, not quite as exciting as previous months. Lots of work of course; writing, writing,
writing and a voice-over here and there.
I’m also officially addicted to Rock Band (I can’t make it
past the easy setting) and Bikram Yoga, (Yep, I voluntarily spend four hours a
week in a 109 degree room twisting my body into pretzel-like shapes) spend too
much money on Thai takeout and have decided the thrift shops in Southern Cali
do not hold a candle to those back in Ohio. The other day I was reminiscing
about The Village which is, hands down, the best second-hand clothing store Dayton has to offer.
(Sigh.)
But enough nostalgia. Coachella Music and Arts Festival is
right around the corner and can you guess who got her hot little hands on a
pair of tickets?! Yep, that’s right. So I solemnly swear next month’s column
will be jam packet with details, pictures, and a general in depth re-hashing of
everything that is, was and will be Coachella.
I also happen to be seeing Mr. Producer Multimedia Guy (We’ll go with
Mr. Producer for short.) He has been in
the desert far longer than I have and I keep hearing references to Coachella
VIP parties. I get the feeling I am
expected to attend but honestly have no clue what’s in store for me at these
celebrations. I’m diving in blind but I am beyond excited.
More to come soon...you won’t want to miss next month!
Oh, and as far as pictures go, I’m leaving you with this lovely shot of Santa Monica pier.
