On any given Friday or Saturday night, the Leaf & Vine in Troy offers one of the widest selections of live music in the Northern Miami Valley.
A personable bar with a Northern California atmosphere, the Leaf & Vine allows patrons to sit close to the performance area, which is located in the front of the bar in an encased window that faces Main Street and the Miami County Courthouse.
Owner Marilyn Dittmer uses her booking skills to bring in everything from Rock and Blues acts to a number of Bluegrass and Country performers. Other nights, patrons may find cover bands that feature everything from Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, Jimmy Buffet and more.
Music typically starts at 9 p.m. and can last as long as 1 a.m.
Along with great music, the bar also contains a huge list of in-house wines and a special cigar room, not to mention of full bar with domestic and imported beers and a selection of spirits.
For a complete evening, arrive early for a delicious appetizer while enjoying the hippie-filled jukebox. You can also view a variety of local artwork hanging on the walls of the tall interior. Or, you can sit in an upstairs, indoor deck with comfortable leather seating. Many patrons play cards, chess and or just have conversations away from the regular seating area, possibly enjoying a bottle of wine.
By the time the band starts, the bar is typically filled with an eager group of people ranging in age from 21 to 61, all looking for a peaceful, good time.
The Leaf & Vine is a place where fights never occur and where a friendly staff is quick to get drink orders with a smile. For Miami County, the Leaf & Vine is probably one of the most unique nightlife experiences around and worth the drive from other communities.
The bar is open Monday through Saturday and offers drink specials on each day. On the first Thursday of each month, Talent Night is also a great time. You can either watch aspiring musicians and occasionally local comedians.
