Indiana Jones 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 2
The twenty year wait is over as the latest installment of the Indiana Jones series has hit the theaters. Now the only question is, was it worth it?
A problem with movies that are so highly anticipated is that they have a lot to live up too. Many of us remember all the thrill rides that Mr. Jones led us on and were anxious to feel that rush of adrenaline again.
While I enjoyed the movie, I was bothered by the extreme unrealism in several of the scenes. I know that it's meant to be an anything goes type of adventure, but there are certain moments that even break the sense of fantasy film's create.
For instance, at one point Indy and his accomplices, are in their jeep/boat and after ending up in the river must go down three large and rapid waterfalls. And after the plunge of hundreds of feet, which throws them out of the vehicle they simply just get back in as if nothing had happened. Surviving it is within the limits of reality being stretched but not even suffering from any fear is beyond it.
And I feel the film is brought down by the whole alien connection, there is something about Indiana Jones and U.F.O's that shouldn't mix.
By the performance of Harrison Ford, you would have never guessed he was twenty years older than the last and is legible for AARP.
True fans of the films, will enjoy some blasts from the past, such as Karen Allen as his love interest in the orginal film and a reminder of Jones's deadly fear of snakes.
It's a thrill ride that I'm glad I took, and I know many of you have also seen it..so share your thoughts.
